What's a Good Neighbour?
Good Neighbours is volunteer-run, grassroots advocacy. Our aim is to make the resettlement process as efficient and painless as possible. Studies have shown that small acts of kindness have an overwhelmingly positive affect on new arrivals, something as simple as a friendly face can help a refugee adjust to life in their new home.
When a refugee is moving into a new neighbourhood, we use your supplied postcode to create an invite list of locals to attend a “Welcome to the Neighbourhood” picnic run by our volunteers. This is a chance to meet new arrivals, offer your support, and meet your fellow advocates.
Our volunteers will be in contact when we need your voice, such as during elections when it’s critical to make sure resettlement is not left off the agenda. We will support your contribution to the democratic process. Need help writing to your local representative on the subject? Drop us a line! We can provide you with all the evidence and policy suggestions you need, and proof-read your letter.

Share your experiences on social media using the hashtags #WelCommunities and #GoodNeighbour
