Welcoming Communities is an independent, refugee assistance program aimed at fostering prosperous relationships between Australian communities and newly settled refugees.
Local communities are made up of many different dynamics, which all differ in faith, belief, culture, religion, and nationality. Welcoming Communities understands the value in these differences, and helps provide warm communal events, opportunities, and networks.
Our program focuses heavily on the engagement of volunteer and training assistance. Our programs include community picnics,
online and offline local support networks, community assistance programs and advocacy start-ups, and skill-recognition advice for refugees. We also correspond with other regional and national programs for refugees and their communities, and offer referrals for legal, social, and employment advice.
Our regional program is targeted at both urban and rural communities that wish to develop consistent and open community values and opportunities for cultural activity and engagement.

How We Help
"As a single mother, being able to provide for my two young children means everything to me. We no longer have to worry if we will have enough food for the next day or if we will still have a place to call home if I am sick and can not work. By job helps me make new friends and understand Australian culture better. My English is getting better too!" Saha
