There are multiple services and agencies in Australia that can assist you in getting your overseas qualifications and education recognised for use in Australia.
1. The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australia, and encompasses higher education, vocational education and training.
2. The National Skills Standards Council (NSSC), which reports to the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). The NSSC aims to regulate vocational education and training (VET) at the national level, and implement national standards across Australia.
3. Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), which is a trade skills assessment service for migrants.
4. Australian Skills Recognition Information (ASRI) department, which is part of the Department of Immigration. This site will help you find out how to get an assessment of occupational qualifications, skills or experience that you have gained overseas. You can also find state-specific licensing and registration requirements to practise your occupation in Australia.
